A friendly match between Nuvista Pharma Ltd (NPL) and ACI took place at BKSP, Savar, on 26 February 2010. NPL won the match by 60 runs. ACI however won the toss and asked NPL to bat first on a seaming wicket. The openers Dr. Shahed and Dr. Saad safely negotiated the opening spell. Subsequently, Md. Rakibul Hasan, Chemist, scored an aggressive 61 and Galib Hasan of IT toyed with the bowlers to score 39 not out. Together they laid the foundation for a total of 167 in the stipulated 20 overs. NPL bowling was opened by Dr. Zubair Akhtar and Mr. Rahbar A. Anwar, Director (Marketing), each of whom took a wicket and conceded 7 and 9 runs respectively. This put early pressure on ACI in the first 7 overs. The bowling attack was aided by the Managing Director, Mr. Akhter Matin Chaudhury, while Dr. Shahed Siddique, Marketing Manager, bowled a solitary over claiming 2 wickets for just 4 runs to wrap up the match. ACI was bundled out for 107 runs. A brief ceremony was conducted by Mr. Asif Ahmed, Director (Sales) where the senior officials of both companies presented respective crests to the winning team, Nuvista Pharma Ltd., and the Man of the Match, Mr. Md. Rakibul Hasan.
The Annual Management Meeting of Nuvista Pharma was held on February 19-20, 2010, at the scenic Nazimgarh Resorts, Sylhet. All Management Staff, including the Chairman and the Directors, attended the meeting. The Directors reviewed the performances of 2009 of their respective departments and highlighted the key deliverables for 2010. Factory Manager, Senior Manager (OSS) and Personnel Manager also gave presentations on their respective fields.
The Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Akhter Matin Chaudhury, conducted the programme for the two days. He also gave presentations on Green Initiative, the revised Vision & Mission of the Company and Site Investment Plan. The results of the “Employee Satisfaction Survey”, conducted by Personnel Manager, were presented at the meeting. On the entertainment front, a grand gala “Housie” was conducted by the Chairman and the entertaining Cultural Evening, anchored by Marketing Manager, Dr. Shahed Ahmed Siddique, introduced us to some hidden talents in the Company.
A CD “Bolini Kakhono” sponsored by Marvelon was launched on 24 December 2009 by Singer Ayub Bachchu at a local restaurant. Nuvista Pharma Limited owns the copyright of this album. Director (Marketing), Director (Sales), Marketing Manager, Product Manager, singer Kumar Bishwajit and Mr. Ayub Bachchu were present on the occasion.

The 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) & 18th Scientific Conference of the Obstetrical & Gynecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) was held at Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital, Sylhet on December 24, 2009. Around 350 Gynecologists from all corners of Bangladesh joined this event where Nuvista Pharma Limited was the major sponsor. It was a day long program with AGM and Scientific Session in the morning hours followed by a cultural event and dinner in the evening.
Clinical meeting at Khulna Medical College Hospital was a great breakthrough. Around 55 doctors including leading Gynecologists of Khulna were present in the meeting. Head of Gynae & Obs, Dr. Shamsun Nahar Lucky herself presented “Visceralgine Injection in Labour”. Another leading Gynecologist, Dr. Shahanara Razzak, was also present at the meeting.
Marvelon presented “Harmony in Romance” an exclusive romantic musical evening for couples on Thursday 10 December 2009. Music legend Mr. Ayub Bachchu performed that evening. He rendered a few songs from his new album “Bolini Kakhono” which was sponsored by Marvelon.
A very successful discussion programme on Hypothyroidism and Thyronor was held on 24th November 2009at the Square Hospital. Many doctors were present a the programme.

On the occasion of World Health Day a seminar was organized on ‘Menopausal Transition and Management’ by Uttara Club Limited on the evening of 28 May 2009. Nuvista Pharma Ltd. sponsored the event. Brig Gen Dr. (Retd) Suriya Rahman was the main speaker oo the occasion. Mr. Akhter M Chaudhury, Managing Director, Nuvista Pharma Ltd. attended the program. A video presentation on Menopause was shown at the function. Around sixty members and guests, including ten from Nuvista Pharma Ltd. participated in this lively interactive event.
A Clinical Meeting (CM) on “Linda-S and Visceralgine Injection in Labour” was held at Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) on 12 May 2009. Dr. Dipti Rani was the main speaker. She presented a paper on normal labour. The two products were presented through a video. Dr. Mahbuba, Dr. Kaniz and others were present in the panel of experts. Around 35 doctors of all units of Gynae & Obs department participated in the program. This is the first time that a CM like this was held at FMCH.
An objective oriented Clinical Meeting (CM) was arranged at Apollo Hospital to strengthen the relationship and further our prospects in the Field of Infertility, Gynecology and all other the departments.
Around 200 participants, all Consultants, Doctors, specialty paramedics, Nurses and hospital staff attended the session on “PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and Infertility”.
The first ever such meeting abroad entitled “Sawasdee 2010, Marketing and Sales Operational Meeting” was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Board of Directors, Marketing Department along with Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers attended the meeting at a local hotel. The meeting was followed by an outing in Pattaya and fishing at Bangsamran.
The Annual Marketing & Sales Conference 2010 was held in Cox’s bazaar on the 9 and 10 January 2010. The first day was a scrutiny of sales performance in 2009 and the strategies for 2010. Later that evening, traditional dance along with a beach barbeque was arranged on the sea beach. On the second day a teambuilding exercise was conducted on the beach. A cultural function, a gala dinner and award giving ceremony was held in the evening. This was regarded as one of the best annual Marketing and Sales Conferences in the history of Nuvista Pharma Ltd.
